Kali originates from the Philippines, and is one of the most complete martial arts in terms of the breadth of systems it incorporates.  It has a grappling system, a weaponry system, a boxing system and a kick-boxing system.

Kali is a significant component of JKD because of the way it develops attributes such as hand-eye coordination and the principals of weaponry, such as how to deal with someone armed with a weapon, such as a knife
