Black Belt Success
Last weekend saw huge success for a number of students, some of which have been training for this day for almost 10 years!
The day kicked off with an incredible course from sensei Phil Norman, covering the use of the stick combined with his elusive ghost system. We then integrated low line strikes to the stick work, before moving in to his combatives system and exploring self-defence and Jeet Kune Do concepts.
After the course we had the pleasure of Sensei Phil's company on the panel for our Black Belt grading assessment.
One adult and nine juniors took their black belt in Jeet Kune Do, the test spanning over 3 hours, with he curriculum covering stick, knife, striking, kickboxing, throwing, grappling, trapping and locking amongst other things.
Sparring with single and multiple opponents was the final part of the exam, and everyone showed true spirit and girt to get through and make the grade!.
It was absolutely fantastic to see our student's hard work, persistence and commitment pay off for them, and watch their skills demonstrated with great flare and focus on the day. Well done to everyone, amazing!
