CDMA students succeed for England... again!
On the 18th March 2018 , Oliver Holyoak, Kennedy Lambourne and Sam Coxon travelled to Barking , Essex to compete in the KDF 6th Open Championships.
The day started with Oliver Holyoak competing in Kata. He won his first two rounds 3 - 0 performing Sochin then Gankaku. After losing his third round he performed Jion in the bronze medal match , winning this 2-1 to get the bronze medal.
Rather quickly after this Oliver had to compete in kumite. Despite some excellent footwork he lost his first round.
Soon after it was Kenney’s turn to compete in kumite. After two rounds of amazing fighting he found himself in the final against EKF champion Joe Hird. It was a very close fight , unfortunately Kennedy lost 1-0 landing him a silver medal. An exceptional performance for his debut England outing.
After long wait it was Sam’s turn to take to the mats for kumite. After 3 very very convincing and amazing victory’s using great technique Sam found himself in the final taking home the gold medal!
We are very proud of our students, their commitment to their sport, the extra training they put in each week and the courage they show by constantly taking themselves out of their comfort zones in order to keep progressing. Oss!
Overall a very successful day for CDMA. Every competitor won a medal for England. Well done to all. BOOM!!!
