Meet Sensei Stella Vassiliou
Stella Vassiliou is a 2nd Dan in Shotokan Karate. She began studying Shotokan Karate at the age of 9, under the instruction of Sensei Nick Adamou. Sensei Adamou was himself a student of Master Hirokazu Kanazawa and Stella had the good fortune of training with Sensei Kanazawa on several occasions and being graded by him.
Over the years she has competed in many competitions. She won the National Shotokan Karate Association Ladies’ Kata Trophy two years running while still a teenager.
Under the NSKA Stella regularly taught black belt kata classes and was presented with her Instructor’s Certificate in 1994.
Sensei Stella has been a member of the KUGB for over 2 years and has trained with Sensei Ben Richardson since this time. Stella finds the club to be an exciting, challenging and friendly environment in which to train. She teaches Can Do Martial Art classes in Didcot and Abingdon.
After a few years break in her competition schedule Stella is back on track competing all over the UK and dominating local tournaments.
