Meet Sensei Theresa Quinn
Theresa originally began her karate training in Wado Ryu reaching 4th kyu, after following in her daughters footsteps. During this time she ran her own business, teaching Karate skills to children aged 2-6 years.
Theresa’s background is in Child Development, having done a degree in Psychology and then going on to be a lecturer and assessor in Child Development and Education in Further Education. She has had over 20 years’ experience working in Childcare and Education. She firmly believes that exercise and physical development are key to a child’s development and success in all areas of their lives. This was the reason she helped devise and teach a Karate skills programme.
Having recently trained in Dyslexia Teaching she currently works at The Unicorn School as a 1-1 teacher, using her experience to help children with Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.
Theresa has recently taken up her karate training again in Shotokan with Can Do Martial Arts, along with her two children. She uses the knowledge from her previous business to help create and run the Tiny Tigers Karate programme.
She has had training in the BAGA FUNdamentals programme, movement play and SAQ. She also enjoys boxing and BJJ.
