At Can Do Martial Arts we are lucky to have some very excellent and dedicated instructors across Oxfordshire who understand how best to teach Karate and Jeet Kune Do, and get the most out of you too. All of our instructors compete at the highest levels so you can be sure that they are speaking from experience.
Meet Sensei Ben Richardson
Ben began training in martial arts over 20 years ago. Though his roots are found in Karate he has now trained in many martial arts from various cultures around the world. Ben is also an Advanced Trainer in SAQ which we teach in all kids classes.

Meet Sensei Virginia Richardson
Virginia runs Can Do Martial Arts alongside her husband. Virginia started learning Karate in 2005 and in March 2009 she passed her 1st Dan in Shotokan Karate!

Meet Sensei Stella Vassiliou
Stella Vassiliou is a 3rd Dan in Shotokan Karate (Sensei Sherry, KUGB). She began studying Shotokan Karate at the age of 9, under the instruction of Sensei Nick Adamou.

Meet Sensei Judith James
Judith started studying shotokan karate in November 2005 as she had been inspired by her son Harry James who had started classes six months earlier at Blewbury school. In December 2008 Harry obtained his 1st dan black belt and Judith is proud to say that on 28th March this year (2009) she joined him.

Meet Sensei Nigel Couch
Nigel began training in karate with the KUGB and JKA over 30 years ago. He graded to Shodan in 1984, Nidan in 2010 and is a Qualified Karate Instructor and Judge. Over the years he has trained under many famous British and Japanese Sensei. After a break of a few years, he has resumed training and instructing with Can Do Martial Arts.

Meet Sensei Richard Smith
Rich had sampled several different martial arts including Karate and Kick Boxing before joining Can Do Martial Arts as a student. When training privately with Sensei Ben he was introduced to the philosophy of Jeet Kune Do and was instantly hooked.

Meet Sensei Scott Witham
Scott has trained in a variety of martial arts since a young age ranging from Kung Fu to Tae Kwon Do. Five years ago he decided to take his training seriously and joined Can Do Martial Arts, there was glad to find a club where he actually learned the real skills and techniques necessary to fight and defend himself properly.

Meet Sensei Caroline Dendy
Caroline discovered her love of martial arts in 1993 with Wadu-Ryu Karate. She reached her 8th kyu under Sensei Don Caine’s club (which has been running since 1978), and swore one day to reach 1st kyu.

Meet Sensei Theresa Quinn
Theresa originally began her karate training in Wado Ryu reaching 4th kyu, after following in her daughters footsteps. During this time she ran her own business, teaching Karate skills to children aged 2-6 years.
