We are pleased to announce that we will be holding our first ever Junior Karate Championships on Saturday 24th April. The event will be held in Abingdon at the White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre from 10:30am till 4pm.

All students who are younger than 16 years of age and are 9th Kyu (orange belt) or above are encouraged to enter. Please note that there is a grading the weekend before so current white belts may well be able to join the competition.

All proceeds raised from this event will be donated to the 2 charities the KUGB are supporting this year – CRY and Asthma UK.

Grading Success!!

by Virginia on December 14, 2009

As most of you know we had our final grading of the year yesterday. Sensei Bob Poynton 7th Dan, was present to take us all through some brain teasing training exercises before conducting the actual grading exam. Everyone did fantastically well and I was very proud of all our students and of the teaching quality our instructors had been able to produce in order to assist those grading in their success.
